Prior to testing

  • Avoid strenuous activities 12-48 hours prior to testing.

  • It is recommended to get 7-9 hours of sleep leading up to this test.

  • It is recommended to maintain good nutrition leading up to this test.

  • If you require additional strength development, it is recommended to engage in approximately 8 weeks of strength training leading up to this test. If you are unsure of training parameters, it is advised to seek guidance from a healthcare provider.

Day of testing

Arrival
Arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your test start time (found on your confirmation email).

ID
Have a government issued ID ready.

Pre-Test Paperwork
Your paperwork must be completed and submitted prior to you arriving. If you have any technical issues filling out this paperwork, contact Medic Strong via email (medicstronginfo@gmail.com).

Dresscode
Wear your CSA compliant safety boots and comfortable clothing suitable for physical activities. Avoid loose clothing that may interfere with your movements. Make sure to follow any additional instructions regarding attire or equipment provided by the test administrators.

Test Orientation
You will have an opportunity to watch a demo video of the PFAT prior to your test.

Test Format
The PFAT consists of a series of physical tasks that simulate real work situations. These tasks may include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and other activities specific to the job being evaluated. Each task is performed under standardized conditions to ensure fairness and accuracy.

Test Instructions
Listen carefully to the instructions provided by the test administrators before each task.

Communication
If you experience any pain, discomfort, or concerns during the PFAT, inform the test administrators immediately. Open and clear communication is essential to ensure your well-being and to address any issues that may arise during the testing process.

Results and Feedback
You will receive the results of your test within 72hours of completion - you may receive feedback or a summary of your performance. This feedback can provide valuable insights into your strengths and areas for improvement. If you have any questions or require further clarification regarding your final results, feel free to inquire with the test administrators.

Remember, the PFAT is designed to assess your functional abilities accurately. Approach the test with a positive attitude, give your best effort, and follow the instructions provided to ensure an effective evaluation of your capabilities.
