About

Open Equipment Day provides an opportunity for students to enhance their skills in handling EMS equipment and lifting techniques.

During Open Equipment Day, students have access to a wide range of EMS equipment, including stretchers, scoops/backboards, stair chairs, and other tools used in the field. Under the guidance of experienced instructors and paramedics, participants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the equipment, practice proper handling procedures, and refine their technical proficiency. Participants have the opportunity to practice various lifting techniques, including proper body mechanics, team lifting strategies, and the use of assistive devices such as backboards and stair chairs.

Open Equipment Day provides paramedic students with additional practice opportunities and hands-on experience with EMS equipment. By honing their skills in equipment handling and lifting techniques, students are better prepared to excel in their future roles as healthcare providers in the field of emergency medical services.
